Manchester Masons unite the nation with a dive!

It all started as a concept by Manchester Masons members Dean Lynch, an avid skydiver and adrenaline junkie at the best of times, assisted by his trusty sidekick, Darren Fletcher.

They embarked on an arduous journey to get sixty Masonic and Non-Masonic people to raise funds for their selected charities.

Dean put out the call to arms, and it was heard loud and clear. The event has seen both Masons & Non-Masons signed up to the Manchester Masons / Manchester Level Club Skydive and was fully booked within a week!

The actual event was due on 14th August, however much to everyone’s dismay this was postponed due to adverse weather. Luckily it hasn’t dampened anyone’s spirits as there have been quite a few people who have jumped since.

Masons from multiple Provinces spread all over England took part including John Merrett, a 70-year-old member from Bristol who jumped with his regalia under his flight suit and Rob Manchester from Leicestershire, who was raising funds for the Province of Leicestershire’s Festival.

The Assistant Provincial Grand Master for the Manchester Districts, Mark Davis, in a proper display of leadership also took to the skies. He showed the others how to do it in style and he raised a considerable amount for the upcoming Province of East Lancashire 2026 Festival in support of the MCF.

Over £20,000 has been raised for good causes between all of the jumpers and we haven’t finished yet.

We would be remiss in not mentioning Rachel Cookson and her efforts.  She jumped supporting the East Lancashire Masonic Charity (ELMC) and alone has raised over £2000 from the event. She was skydiving in honour of Charles Ward who sadly passed away earlier this year.
